THE PHILOSOPHY
Menchi knitwear and jersey originate from a simple question: why stop at outerwear? The same noble fibers we use for fabrics—cashmere, alpaca, Merino wool—become jersey and knitwear to complete the wardrobe with the same qualitative consistency. From fiber to complete look, without compromise.
THE PRODUCT
The Menchi Knitwear & Jersey family comprises knitted fabrics and jersey in noble fibers for garments worn beneath outerwear: sweaters, cardigans, luxury t-shirts, jersey dresses, jacket and coat linings.
Menchi cashmere jersey is a fabric of extraordinary softness and lightness: it is worn directly against the skin, beneath a cashmere coat, creating a clothing system completely consistent in fiber and touch. Merino wool jersey is the most versatile option: warm, elastic, durable, suitable for every use.
Menchi knitwear is produced with the same selected fibers as the fabrics: there is no difference in quality between the coat and the sweater. It is the same fiber, worked differently.

MJ-001

THE PRODUCTION PROCESS

Yarn selection
Yarn for knitwear is selected with the same criteria as yarns for fabrics. Fineness, twist and count are calibrated to the final article: finer yarns for lightweight jerseys, heavier ones for structured knits.

Structure design
The knit structure—plain jersey, rib, English stitch, interlaced—determines the elasticity, weight and appearance of the fabric. Menchi develops specific structures for each application.

Knitting
Processing takes place on high-precision knitting machines. Parameters are set to achieve the desired density and elasticity, respecting the fiber’s characteristics.

Finishing and stabilization
Knitwear finishing includes washing, steaming and dimensional stabilization. Each article is inspected to ensure it maintains its dimensions and characteristics over time.
